It's back to class next Tuesday for students in the Foothills School Division.

Assistant Superintendent Drew Chipman says they're preparing to welcome students back again.

"It's going well, there's lots of things going on in transportation as always this time of year, we are finding difficulty in finding enough bus drivers and spare bus drivers has been a concern the last couple of years and that continues to be an issue," he says.

Buses go through inspections twice a year, including once during the summer which Chipman says is going on during preparations for the return to class.

"Parents are certainly contacting Transportation, a lot of that stuff is done online now but we're working through those, a lot of new students that are registering, trying to make sure they're lined up to get on a bus route."

He says there are about 72 bus routes in the Foothills Division.

There are some small fee changes for unfunded students but Chipman says they're working through all those issues.

Teachers are back in class today and students return on Tuesday after the Labour Day weekend.
