The High River Gift of Music Society is bringing another renowned musical performance to High River as their season wraps up.

Percussiano3 is going to be performing tonight, Saturday May 6 at the High River United church at 7:30 p.m.

The trio is a unique pairing of the Bergmann Piano Duo of Marcel and Elizabeth Bergmann and Rod Thomas Squance. Squance is a percussionist from Calgary with a wide array of percussion instruments, including gourd and cowbell, to blend percussion and piano together.

And something extra-special is happening tonight as well. A local High River musician is going to performing on stage too at 6:30 p.m.

Jordan Middleton and friends will perform a prelude to the main performance, and it's a real coming full circle moment for the young talent.

He found his inspiration for jazz through a Gift of Music school workshop.

Middleton began his journey like so many young people through a school band program and he got his start at Senator Riley School in High River.

He's worked hard on his skills busking his way to raise money for his own soprano saxophone.

This could be your last chance to see him perform before he packs up and heads to Toronto on a scholarship at the University of Toronto.

Middleton has played across Alberta as part of an elite group of jazz musicians in the Jazz YYC Youth Lab Band.  Five of his friends from the Jazz YYC band will be joining him tonight on stage.
