The Bomber Command Museum of Canada in Nanton is hosting a couple of very special events this weekend.

Friday night they plan on firing up the Lancaster Merlin engine at 9:00 p.m.

They also have plans to unveil an IBCC (International Bomber Command Centre) animation of the Bombing War In Europe from WWII from 1939 to 1945.

The museum will be open from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday night.  Admission by donation as always.

Then on Saturday, they have two engine runs planned for 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. with Karl Kjarsgaard updating everyone on the recovery efforts of the Halifax bomber off the coast of Sweden.

Kjarsgaard just recently returned from the diving efforts off the coast and has a full report along with premiering a documentary on their efforts.

You can see more photos and donate to the cause on their fundraising page hosted by Fundrazr
