Harvest is well underway here in the Foothills.

Harry Brook, a Crop Specialist with the Alberta Ag Info Centre, says it looks like it's going to be a good year for farmers.

"For the most part a lot of the areas are getting well above average yields. I've been hearing reports around your area of around 50 bushels per acre for wheat. Peas are doing really well, 50 to 60 bushels and acre. In some cases even better. It's a good year."

Brook says it's not what he would call a "bumper" crop, but it was above average.
