The Heat Warning is still in effect in the Foothills for the fifth consecutive day.
With another high of 34 C today, Saturday July 16, Environment Canada re-issued the warning at 4:49 a.m.
Some reminders if you plan on spending time outside this weekend:
- Consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day.
- Take frequent breaks from the heat, spending time in cooled indoor spaces where possible.
- Drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages to stay hydrated.
- Check for your children or pets before you exit your vehicle.
Do not leave any person or pet inside a closed vehicle, for any length of time.
There is good news on the near horizon as the temperature should be more moderate tomorrow and rain is expected by Monday.
