One swing of the bat was the difference for the Okotoks Dawgs Wednesday night as they edged the Swift Current Indians 6-5, putting the brakes on a two game losing streak.

Trailing 5-3 in the bottom of five, slugger Brenden Hendricks took the first pitch he saw over the wall cashing in three runs and giving the Dawgs the win.

"That's what you play baseball for, a situation like that. There's two outs and two guys on and I got a pitch that I could hit and I got into it and thankfully it was enough for us to hold the lead and we ended up coming away with the win."

Besides Hendricks, Alex Gudac had a good night at the plate going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Brian Sisler continues to be steady at the plate as he was 1-for-3 scoring twice.

Jean Acevedo started on the mound for the Dawgs pitching four inning, giving up three runs on seven hits and striking out three.

Brandon Zywicki took over in the fifth inning, but didn't last long as he gave up two runs on three hits.

Holden Lyons was quickly called from the bullpen.

Lyons pitched four innings giving up no runs on six hits, while walking no batters and striking-out two.

Jeremy Newton closed out the game giving up no runs and just one hit while striking out a pair of Indians batters.

Lyons picked up the win, while Newton gets the save.

The Dawgs continue their six game home stand Thursday night as they welcome the Regina Red Sox for the first of two games.
