The 37th annual Santa Claus parade is just a few sleeps away till it arrives this Friday in downtown High River.

Dozens upon dozens of floats and entries have already signed up and it's not too late to get an entry in.

Lorraine Watson put the finishing touches on the final parade map.

"The map is up; it's got pretty much everything that you can do throughout the whole night. There's the new petting zoo, along with food trucks on 5th Avenue. It's all on the map."

Ted Dawson says it should be a night to remember.

"There's fire pits and hot chocolate, goodie stands all around the parade route. I don't think you have to go farther than about half a block to get something. So, really just come out, take it all in with like I say family and friends. And it's going to be a great evening."

High River Lions Club president Ziggy Valtins also reminds that there will be hot dogs!

500 hot dogs will be given away for free thanks to Jason and Karen McCauley at High River Sobey's supplying not just the hot dogs but the buns and condiments.

The festivities get underway at 5:00 p.m. with Light Up George Lane Park at 6:00 p.m. with the parade starting at 6:30 p.m.

As far as parking goes, you'll need to find a spot before the barricades go up at 4:30 p.m.

The barricades will be left up until 9:00 p.m. to allow for late-night shopping as many stores will be open including the Winter Market in the Highwood Centre as well as the Gift of Hope Market.
