The chucks head back to the Foothills for four nights of racing starting Friday in Strathmore as the Heritage Days Stampede runs over the long weekend.

Okotoks Mark Sutherland says with warm, dry weather in the forecast he likes his chances.

"When the weather's good Strathmore has a track I love. It's hard and fast. You know if they keep the infield at a reasonable level, it isn't too deep and that means guys that have good turning outfits may have an advantage."

Sutherland won his first WPCA show in Strathmore back in 2010.

He picked up just his second tour win this past June in Saskatoon.

Sutherland sits 10th in the World Standings heading into the race, his dad Kelly is just ahead in ninth, while High River's Jordie Fike eighth.

High River's Jason Glass is 12th.

They'll run Friday through holiday Monday.
