Although it would help advertise flood affected businesses better, High River Council has voted no on a proposed relaxation of the signage bylaws.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass said it would just turn into too much clutter.

"The reason we voted against it was just to keep the cleanliness of this town. There's enough going here, and we're just worried about that becoming a free-for-all with those signs, because if you approve one, how do you not approve the next one?"

He added although many businesses are displaced, most residents still know where they're located.

"That one didn't have much to do with them finding it, the displaced businesses are still centralized in the Sprung temporary shelter, so it's not like they're hard to find. I do understand there will be some people that won't like it, but we still have to take care of High River and make it look clean, and not like a Nascar."

Mayor Snodgrass fully addressed this issue in his latest video message to the Town.
