High River's Conner Bleackley could find himself donning the maple leaf once again, as the 19 year old has been invited to Team Canada's summer camp for the 2016 World Junior Hockey Championships.

Only one of 40 players and 24 forwards to be invited to the camp, Bleackley will find some stiff competition when the camp opens up in just over a month. Past first round picks in Michael Dal Colle, Robby Fabbri, Josh Ho-Sang, Jared McCann, Brendan Perlini, and Jake Virtanen have all be invited, along with potential 2015 first rounders Mathew Barzal, Lawson Crouse, Dylan Strome, and Mitch Marner.

Bleackley, a first round pick selection by the Colorado Avalanche last year, was limited to only 51 games with the Red Deer Rebels this year, but still managed to score 27 goals and 49 points.

This wouldn't be the first crack at Team Canada for the Rebels' captain though, as Bleackley won a bronze medal with the Canadians at the 2014 World Under-18 Championships in Finland.

The summer camp runs between August 1 - 6 in Calgary, which will include four exhibition games against Russia and the Czech Republic.

Beginning on Boxing Day, the 2016 World Junior Hockey Championships will be hosted in Helsinki, Finland.
