This weekend was the much anticipated 29th Annual Santa Claus Parade, and Polar Patrol was lucky enough to be a part of it!

Leah and Alyshia-Grace ready to walk alongside the Sun Country cruiser to hand out candy canes in the 29th Annual High River Santa Claus Parade

The parade took place Friday night in High River's downtown, and this year had a huge number of entries, including the 99.7 Sun Country and AM 1140 cruiser! It was estimated by organizer Ted Dawson that approximately 10,000 people lined the streets of High River to watch and wave at all the floats and entries that made their way through the town. And of course the parade had it's grand finale with Santa Claus himself waving hello in the final float of the procession. Friday night also featured the official light up of Light Up George Lane Park, as well as the first day of the High River Christmas Craft Market at the Highwood Memorial Centre.

Saturday morning the Polar Patrol was off to the Cargill Field House at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex for the 2nd Annual High River Holiday Market. This market featured over 50 local vendors and businesses showing off their fantastic and unique products. Admission was simply a donation to the High River Food Bank. This event had a great turn out and hopes to expand next year.
