The Highwood Curling Club will have some new digs in the next 2 years. The club is all set to build a new 8 sheet rink near the rodeo grounds. Club Manager John Steel says it's something the members have been pushing for. He says in a survey thry put out a couple of weeks ago 95 percent of their members were in support of building a new rink. Club President Craig Snodgrass says the cost will be around 2.5 million dollars, and will be shared by the town, the MD, the Ag Society and the club itself.
He says it would break down to about 1.5 million for the town and MD. The rest would be from grants through the Ag Society. The club hopes to have construction started by April with the opening scheduled for the Fall of 2008.
