Thousands of people showed up for the balloon glow last night in High River.

It's all part of the Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival

At a new location this year, it provided much more room for food trucks and the lineups as well as offer a lot of opportunities for people to take pictures and see the balloons up close.

Buses provided shuttle services but most people parked relatively nearby and walked with strollers and some dogs making their way through the crowd.

Porta-potties were also provided for the many families that joined.

Music filled the air and entertained the eager crowd until the balloons were able to inflate at approximately 7:30 p.m. Ms. and Mrs. Calgary were also mingling with the crowd.

Once the balloons were safely inflated the crowd was able to spill onto the field on the west side of Centre street in the old Wallaceville area just south of the Centre St. bridge.

Lots of photos, selfies and laughter ensued with people starting to stream out of the area around 8:30 p.m.

Many volunteers helped with crowd control and set up and clean up.
