Personally, I had never been to the Bar U Ranch before today...and now having gone I don't know why I'd never stopped in before.  It's a fabulous place!  There is so much interesting history right here in the Foothills!  Today was opening day for the ranch.  During the off season they did some renovations so to honor the new area there was a ribbon cutting.  It was also a special day because the ranch celebrated Parks Canada's 100th Anniversary with a beautiful and extremely yummy Cenntennial cake.  There were wagon rides, lasso lessons, horse shoe making, tours, live music and kite flying.  And to top the day off, the North West Mounted Police Commemorative Association was there willing to do anything that needed to be done...including keeping my papers from blowing away.  It was such a fun day!

And tomorrow the fun continues with Little Britches.  Be sure to watch for me in the parade!  Afterwards, I'll head over to George Lane Park for Beef on a Bun and Battle of the Bands.  I'll be ending the day by heading to the High River Auction Market for the 4-H Show & Sale.

I really hope to see you out and about!
