It's Canada Day on Friday and there is so much to do in the Foothills!  I can't get everything in, so I'm dividing the day between Blackie and High River.

At 7:30am, in Blackie, the day kicks off with a pancake breakfast in the fire hall.  Then at 10:00am you can watch for me in the parade.  The FUN activities carry on throughout the day!  There's a tractor pull, horseshoe tourney, kids zone, silent auction and more!  You can enter the motorcycle and car Show N' Shine for FREE!  A cake cutting will happen at 12:00pm.  At 6:00pm, there's a Pig Roast, which is a potluck or donation entry.  The Beer Garden is running all day long, right up until the fireworks at 11:00pm.  And Calgary band Hoist will perform.  Boy, what a day!  I'll be hanging out in Blackie till about 11:30am.

I'm spending the afternoon in High River, all the activities are happening in George Lane Park.  The celebration will start at 11:50am with a welcome from the mayor and councilors.  Then Callum Graham will sing O' Canada and the cake will be cut.  Other bands performing are Vannatta, Lucas Chaisson, and Longhaul.  There's contests, prizes, line dancing, belly dancing, Irish dancing, and lots of FUN activities for the kids!  At 9:30pm, entertainment will start at Emerson Lake to get ready for the fantastic firework show at 10:30pm.

Happy Canada Day and have a great long weekend!
