After another 4,800 tests, Alberta has seen just 50 news cases of COVID-19.

There are 1,131 active cases in the province with 5,205 people who have recovered.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw says 65 people are in hospital with ten of those in ICU.

She says there has been one more death, at a Calgary Continuing Care centre, bringing the total in Alberta to 121.

There are 16 active cases among workers from the Cargill meat processing plant in High River, and 932 have recovered.

There are 14 active cases among workers from JBS Foods Canada in Brooks, and 627 have recovered.

Five active cases have been confirmed at Harmony Beef, and 35 individuals have recovered.

Dr. Hinshaw says businesses that are reopening have to show they're prepared.

"We are requiring anyone who is re-opening to identify what they are doing at their site to reduce the risk of transmission," she says. "Within seven days of opening businesses must fill out a short template that can be found online at the BizConnect site, and post it at their place of business or online. Places of worship and funeral services will be required to do the same."

She says it's to reassure customers and staff that each business is taking the appropriate actions to protect them.
