The Foothills Composite Falcons are back in the Big Rock Football Conference finals and once again have home field advantage but will hope to take advantage of it this time around.

After falling to Rundle College at home in last year's final, the Falcons are looking to leave no stone unturned as they face their cross town rivals the Holy Trinity Academy Knights Friday, October 29.

Falcons Head Coach Darren Olson says the harsh reality of losing the final at home has been motivation in this week's preparation.

"The big thing for us this week is making sure we are mentally prepared for the game and we're not underestimating what could happen Friday night," he says. "It caught us off guard last year with Rundle and we're making sure this year the same thing doesn't happen."

The Comp knocked off HTA earlier on in league play at Knights Field 47-7 but it was the halftime score of 15-7 for the Falcons that is making the match-up very intriguing for football fans.

Olson says if they want to be successful in a big game situation they'll need to be more disciplined than they have in past games.

"We had about 230 yards of penalties so we certainly have to eliminate that Friday night and I think the second thing is that we got to make sure that they don't have any big plays on us so we have to play smart defence and we got to make sure we're doing our jobs on each play."

The Knights had their way against Rundle College in last week's Big Rock Semi Final shutting out the Cobras 30-0.

Olson knows what HTA is capable of.

"They're a tough team. They threw the ball really well last week against Rundle and dominated them on every facet of the game so we're expecting a real battle Friday night and hopefully we'll be ready."

Kick-off is 7 P.M. at Falcons Field, with the winner advancing to the Tier II Provincial playdowns and the loser's season ending.
