The Holy Trinity Academy Knights will be looking to get back to their winning ways as they get set to open training camp this Sunday.

After an average season for the Knights, they'll be looking to get back to their 2011 Big Rock Football Conference championship form.

Knights Head Coach Matt Hassett says putting in a complete effort on the gridiron will determine how far the Knights will go this year.

"Just consistency, especially on offense," he says. "Struggled on offense the last couple of years, so we're looking to just have some consistency there and just continue to improve on defense and special teams, it always seemed there was something that let us down in games last year."

There's not a whole lot of time for the Knight's to get into game form as they'll be playing their only exhibition game of the season on Friday 21st in Red Deer.

"A week later we've got LCI here back at home for the home opener on the 28th (August), We got to hit the ground running, it's going to be a little bit of everything and we've got to get everyone up to speed as fast as possible."

Hassett says in high school football you're always filling hole whether it's seniors departing or dealing with injuries, he's hoping his young core that developed through the Foothills Eagles program can step up.

"Coming back Jonathan Leggett and Cian Booth helping lead our seniors," he says. "We've got some young guys coming in that I think are really going to fill in, step in and get some time as grade 10s, really excited about the year, looking forward to getting started."
