Whether you're a veteran curler, or taking to the ice for the first time, your chance to take part in the popular sport in Okotoks is almost here.

Okotoks Curling Club Coordinator Lynn Ardiel says registration day is not too far away.

"Tue. Sep. 15, 7 o'clock at the Curling Club, North side of the Rec Centre," she says. "We'll be upstairs, and everyone there will be ready to take your registration and get you set for the season."

Ardiel says there's plenty of leagues and times to suit just about any curler.

"We've got daytime leagues all throughout the league, and we've got our evening league," she says. "Actually, we curl Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so whatever day works for you."

Ardiel says the Curling Club is introducing a new league this year-doubles curling.

"Rather than a team of four, it's a team of two," she says. "You throw your own rock, you brush it, or the skip will come forward and brush your rock. It's going to be fantastic for people who are new and learning curling."
