It's not often someone stops for someone on the side of the road but for one local celebrity, she is glad someone did.

Okotoks singer-songwriter and anthem singer for the Calgary Stampede rodeo Michela Sheedy's car broke down on the way to Calgary from Okotoks.

It stalled in the middle of an intersection on the highway and left her stranded with little time to get to her anthem gig at the rodeo grounds.

Luckily a friendly stranger slowed down to hook her up with a ride.

"AJ swooped in and drove me to the Stampede and I made it to the rodeo on time." She said on social media.

"It’s been a crazy Stampede so far but probably one of the most memorable. Thank you AJ."

The act of kindness didn't go unrewarded as he had never seen a rodeo and got the first-class experience thanks to his new side-of-the-road superstar.

"I owe you one. Hope you enjoyed your very first rodeo!"

Sheedy is no stranger to the spotlight as she also sings for the Calgary Flames and is performing all Stampede long.
