Barrell racer injured at U-S rodeo. Four time Canadian ladies barrel racing champ, Deb Renger, could be out of action for a while.
The Okotoks barrell racer shattered her femur Thursday night while entering the arena at a rodeo in Washington state.
Her horse bolted, slamming her thigh into the corner of a metal panel lining the arena.
Renger says the surgery was a success, but she doesn't know if she'll need more. She's currently ranked 4th in Canadian barrel racing, and 10th in the world.
