Local Restaurants Promote Alberta Flavour

Regional cuisine is in this September.

Black Diamond's Wild Horse Bistro and Okotoks' Bistro Provence and Divine have developed September menus for the Dine Alberta Project, which encourages restaurants to feature local ingredients.

Project leader Wesley Johnson  says there are benefits to eating locally.

"It all comes down to freshness and also a lot of consumers these days are interested in traceability... knowing where that food came from and who produced it."

This is the fourth year of the Alberta Agriculture initiative to promote regional flavours.
