Foothills' own awarded for western legacies Southern Alberta's Western legacy has a storied past... and now two important Foothills community leaders have been awarded for theirs.
Okotoks' Ryan Hodgson was given a Western Legacy Award for his 4-H involvement and community initiatives, and Eddie Cochlan was honored for starting the Stavely Indoor Rodeo.
Calgary Stampede President Steve Allan says since Alberta is growing so quickly, he's worried Albertans might loose touch with their Western values.
He adds the Stampede committee thinks it's important to stop to recognize those who are still demonstrating those values, and making a difference in the community.
