Due to an early morning collision in B.C. Highway 3 was closed to traffic for several hours this morning (Jan. 23).

The collision happened just east of Sparwood in British Columbia and stopped traffic heading in both directions.

Just before 11 a.m. RCMP were able to open one lane to traffic, but as you can imagine, traffic is really backed up.

Hopefully, truckers, travellers, and downhill skiers won't have to wait much longer for both lanes to open.

The highway heading east was earlier closed at Sparwood in B.C. while Crowsnest Pass was also closed to westbound traffic.
