High River's Long Range Planning and Growth committee has presented its report to town council.
The committee set out to identify and prioritize areas requiring a focus for municipal officials. Dr Dan Campbell listed the eleven priorities they came up with, including a public transportation system, a policy on waste minimization, a responsibility to provide housing for lower or fixed income residents, a keeping growth to a manageable 5-percent.
The plan is to be used by the current and future councils as a resource for future planning purposes.
Councillor Glenda Cutforth was surprised at how the plan almost mirrored a similar plan done in 1973.
