A handful of locals are in the running for the YYC Music Awards People Choice category.

Nominated for her fourth time, local musician Kelsey Raine has her name in twice for two very different songs and styles.

"So I have my Kelsey Raine project. I actually did a completely different style this year. I did a country folk song with Cody Hall from Stavely, As Long As You Can, that's a duet that's in the list that needs to be voted for.

"And then I have my other project Alice Awake, which is like an Alice in Wonderland philosophical sort of themed project that I have, and that's called Rabbit Hole."

Also making the list is Vicarious Vandalism. A 16-year-old punk rocker named Dave Grunleitner whose debut single Evidently Degrading is available on all streaming services with hopes an EP is on its way this year.

This is his first nomination.
