Diamond Valley Fire Rescue battled a large grass fire on the weekend.

According to a press release on their Facebook page, crews first responded to the fire at 176 Street West just after 5 p.m. on June 1.

The first personnel on the scene mounted an “aggressive initial attack” in anticipation of the arrival of further resources.

Crews from the Okotoks, Foothills, and Priddis fire departments ended up assisting.

The blaze was extinguished in about two hours.

Luckily, no property damage or injuries occurred.

Diamond Valley Fire Rescue is taking the opportunity to remind locals that fires can still move quickly due to wind and dry conditions, even after the recent rain.
