The Air Museum roars its engines Saturday.

The Nanton Lancaster Air Society celebrates its twentieth birthday this Saturday.

Vintage planes like the Tiger Moth and Snowbird Tutor will fly over the museum throughout the day, and they'll start up the  engine of their famous Lancaster bomber twice.

Museum Manager Lea Norman says the Lancaster is a "sight to behold."

"It's a very very exciting time when that engine is run up and we gather people from all over town and all those off the highway... It's really quite phenomenal."

David Bashow, author of "No Prouder Place - Canadians and the Bomber Command Experience" will speak at an afternoon ceremony.

A pancake breakfast starts the day at eight o'clock and the final plane flight is at 3:30.

You can pre-purchase breakfast and luncheon tickets by calling 646-2270.  Otherwise there is no charge to attend the celebrations.
