Bear is a typical Pomeranian name from my understanding, but our Bear isn't a typical pooch.

We adopted him from a family who was no longer able to take care of him and we (my family) said we are going to be his last home and give him all the love.

Reading online, some of the benefits of adoption included:

  • You'll save a life. One of the most significant benefits of adopting is you are saving the life of a creature that is in desperate need of a loving home
  • Sense of fulfillment
  • Improved quality of life
  • Unconditional love

Our family has experienced all of that we are so happy Bear has become a part of our family.

Every time I see this little brunette baby (well he's 5 years old, but he's such a baby) Bear, his floppy waddle toward me with his tiny little sasquatch furry feet, fluffy wagging tail and tongue out drooly smile with bright black eyes beaming up at me for a scratch on the head, this little blob of fur has the biggest heart and best little bark.

I fully believe in adopting pets because dogs don't just see you as their best friends, you are their herd and their only family; so when they end up in a shelter and alone - they don't why that previous person/family left them and oh my goodness, that just makes me so sad to think about.

If you are thinking of bringing a new furry friend into your family, there are shelters in and around the foothills such as, Heaven Can Wait.

Bear is just the sweetest little good boy! I thought I would share his cute little face with you today and tell you why adopting is so special!
