A new ladder fire truck has arrived at the High River Fire hall.

The Town of High River made the $1.4 million purchase through the use of a provincial MSI (Municipal Sustainability Initiative) grant.

This new ladder can extend 25 feet further and also can pump out 2000 gallons per minute, an increase of almost 1000 gallons per minute from the current truck.

The current ladder truck is in its 21st year of operation and was due to be replaced.

Local firefighters are getting hands-on training with it and the new truck will be in operation by the end of the month when training is expected to wrap up.
