Corrie Niemans October 24, 1917 – July 20, 2019
Mrs. Corrie Niemans of High River, AB, while surrounded by her family, passed away on July 20, 2019 at the High River Hospital at the age of 101 years. Corrie is survived by her son Hans (Colleen) Niemans, daughter Mary Ann (Shane) Doyle; daughters-in-law Kathy Niemans and Lynda Niemans; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Corrie was predeceased by her husband Joe, sons Peter and Bill; and granddaughter Tanya. Corrie was born on October 24, 1917 in Holland. She married Joe Niemans on September 25, 1940 and immigrated to Canada with 3 sons in March of 1952. A daughter, Mary-Ann was born in 1960 and they bought a farm in Rolling Hills, AB, which they farmed until 1974, then moving to High River, AB. Corrie was highly involved with the UCW and the High River Hospital Auxiliary, of which she was a life-time member of both. She made numerous trips back to Holland to visit family. She loved visiting with her family and friends and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. She was an inspiration to us all. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made to the High River Hospital Auxiliary, 560 – 9th Avenue SW, High River, AB T1V 1B3. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the High River United Church, 123 Macleod Trail S.W., High River, AB.
