A house, once the object of a lottery run by the homeowners, has burned down in Millarville.

Foothills fire crews were called just after 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning and it took about three hours to put out the flames.

In 2019, the owners were unable to sell the home and said people could write them a letter explaining why they wanted to live there, along with $25 for a chance at winning the home.

The lottery never went ahead and the money was supposed to be returned.

No one was injured but the home is a total loss and fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
