The Okotoks Oilers have been a busy group for the past week as they've been holding their training camp.

They'll get their first taste of game action Friday, August 31, when they host the Brooks Bandits in their pre-season lid lifter.

Coach Tyler Deis says he has a few things he'll be looking for coming out of the game.

"Well I think we just want to make sure the team is playing to our identity. We want to be a fast team, a quick transition team, you know a gritty team. So you just want to make sure they're playing within our identity. Those are kind of the things that you want to see. You want to see how focused they are and how they play against a good team like Brooks."

The Oilers and Bandits play the back half of the home and home series Saturday, September 1, in Brooks.
