The Oilers took to the ice at home Friday, March 19th to face off for the second time against the Calgary Canucks.

The game belonged to the Oilers with an 8 - 0 shutout win over the visiting Canucks. Shots on goal 40 - 30 in favour of the Oilers.

The Okotoks Oilers now sit at two wins and a loss as they continue to battle the two teams in their cohort bubble including the Canucks and rivals the Brooks Bandits. 

Brady Parker took the net for the Oilers and the Canucks keeping Sam Philpott in goal.

A couple of AJHL firsts in the opening 20 minutes of play as Nolan Flint and Brett Huxley both nabbed their first league goals. 

Nolan Flint opened the scoring halfway through the 1st with a shot from Cale Sanders and Eric Parker. 
With three minutes left in the 1st, Eric Parker and Brett Huxley brought the score up to 3 - 0 for the Oilers heading into the 2nd period.

Oiler penalties in the 1st to Sam Moshurchak for Interference and a Cross-checking call to Tucker McRae and a late call to  Eric Parker for Tripping.

Okotoks Oiler Dean Spak got his first of the season and the only goal in the 2nd period from Carson Dyck and Tucker McRae. 

Penalties in the 2nd called to Oilers Jaevon Buschlen for Tripping and  Sam Moshurchak for Charging. A nasty blind hit resulted in a Canucks penalty to Nick Cherkowski resulting in a 10-minute Misconduct call and Blow To The Head. 

The Oilers made it 8 - 0 in the 3rd period with an unassisted goal from Cale Sanders, a shot from Rieger Lorenz off of Seth Bernard-Dock, a power-play goal from Bowden Singleton and the eighth of the night coming from another power-play shot by Nolan Flint. 

Canucks with a few penalties in the 3rd, Colin MacPherson getting a Roughing and High-Sticking call with Landon-Samuel Kolnik and Daxton Budd getting called for High-sticking. Okotoks Oiler Nolan Flint for High-sticking and Tucker McRae getting a 10 minute for Misconduct and Blow To The Head as well as an unsportsmanlike conduct call.

The Oilers are back at it Saturday, March 20th as they head up to the Centennial Regional Arena to take on the Brook Bandits at 7 pm.
