The Okotoks Oilers hosted the Camrose Kodiaks Friday night for their home opener.

The Oilers defeated the Kodiaks 6-5, redeeming themselves after falling to the Kodiaks 6-1 last weekend.

Jordie Lawson opened the scoring for the Oilers in the first period, but the Kodiaks answered back with three goals.

At the end of the second period the Kodiaks were up on the Oilers 5-3.

The Oilers earned three goals in the third earning to them the 6-5 win.

The Oilers will welcome the Brooks Bandits Saturday night.
