The Okotoks Bow Mark Oilers won their opening game in the Mac's U18 AAA 'reboot' tournament.

The Oilers skated away with a 5-3 win over the Vancouver NE Chiefs on Wednesday April 6.

And they did it in style with Cade Moxham picking up a hat trick in the process.

The team scored first on a short-handed goal from Gavin Schmidt, assisted by Aiden McArthur at the 12:28 mark of the opening period.

It was quickly followed up with another goal, this time from Connor Radke with assists from Philip Raycroft and Schmidt at 15:42 for a 2-nothing lead.

And then it was Moxham netting his first of three goals at the 16:42 mark on an assist from Ryder Many Grey Horses.

The Chiefs managed to get on the scoreboard with just three seconds left in the opening 20 minutes to leave the game at 3-1 heading into the second period.

Vancouver managed to tie it up in the second period until Moxham scored his second goal of the game with assists going to McArthur and Raycroft.

The Oilers sealed up the win when Moxham scored his third goal for the hat trick, assisted by Many Grey Horses and Radke and they held on for the 5-3 win.

Netminder Marek Schlenker picked up the win for the Oilers.

The Bow Mark Oilers next hit the ice at 12:45 p.m. today as they take on The Edge School who also won their opening game.
