An Okotoks driver who was caught speeding more than 100 km/h over the posted limit was recently sentenced.

On May 23, Black Diamond Protective Services manager Jim Berry was headed to Longview when he encountered the driver, who was going 209 in a 100 zone.

Any driver speeding more than 50 km/hr over the limit faces a mandatory court appearance and is likely to get a license suspension.

Black Diamond Protective Services confirms the 22-year-old pled guilty to the speeding charge and is facing a 90-day license suspension.

He'll also have to pay a $2300 fine.
