Cram-a-Cruiser is returning to Light Up Okotoks.

For the last few years, the Okotoks RCMP have collected food bank donations at Light Up with the goal of filling up a police cruiser.

At the 2022 event, Okotokians donated 300 pounds of food.

The Okotoks Food Bank has provided a wishlist:

  • Baby food and formula
  • Baby wipes and baby wash/shampoo
  • Baking supplies
  • Canned food items such as beans, soups, meats, fruit and vegetables.
  • Condiments/oils/ spices

It's become a part of the annual Light Up Okotoks tradition, and one which the local detachment is excited to continue.

"Okotoks RCMP is excited to come together again with the Food Bank to support our community with the annual Cram a Cruiser event," says S/Sgt. Zane Semaniuk in a release from the town. "It is important to give back to the community we serve and help those in need especially as we head into one of the busiest times of the year for the food bank.”

Light Up Okotoks is on November 17, and the cruiser will be on the corners of Veterans Way and McRae Street.
