Anthony Parker

It's been a busy few days for Anthony Parker.

On Saturday he became a dad for the first time and Wednesday the non-import receiver re-signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL.

Parker's pleased the way things turned out, "You know it's nice to be back in a place that's familiar and that's so close to family and all that kind of stuff and to also have a great opportunity to be part of a good football team so definitely excited to be back and now it's just playing the waiting game, can't wait for the season to start."

The Okotoks product played 17 regular-season games in 2013, recording career highs with 21 catches and 217 yards.

The Foothills Composite High School and University of Calgary alum added four carries for 29 yards and also saw action on special teams, returning three kickoffs for 51 yards.

Parker's been working hard to prepare for the season, "Really it's just going to be building on last year, you know I got an opportunity to play a lot and hopefully build on that and play a lot more this year and contribute a lot more than we've seen previously."

Parker was a first-round selection of the Stampeders in 2011. In 36 career contests, he has 27 catches for 306 yards and two touchdowns, five carries for 36 yards, four kickoff returns for 60 yards and two punt returns for 13 yards. He also picked up an interception on a botched fake-punt play by the BC Lions in 2011.
