He's the MLA for the riding that includes Black Diamond and Turner Valley. But Ted Morton has his sights set on the premier's chair.
Morton made a campaign stop in High River last night.
On the issue of the environment, and specifically a report released last week on the Eastern slopes, Morton says there's a bigger problem with water storage than a shortage of water.
He admits storage is tricky because of the disruption of habitat.
But he says the off stream option is less obtrusive and could help deal with flood issues that High River and area had had to deal with.
Morton aimed most of his comments at the acknowledged front-runner Jim Dinning last night, receiving a positive responce for the hundred or so attendees.
