It's a busy weekend for local high school basketball teams as they're looking to punch their ticket to provincials and be the best in South Central Zone.

The Oilfields Driller girls will be hosting 2A zones this weekend in Black Diamond with the hometown Drillers hitting the floor at 4 p.m Friday.

The Strathcona Tweedsmuir and Notre Dame Colligate Timberwolves head to 2A boys zones at Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs.

Notre Dame opens up the tournament against Hanna at 2 p.m. while the Spartans face Drumheller at 12:30.

The Holy Trinity Academy Boys are in Cochrane for 3A zones all weekend.

Strathmore's 3A girls are in Okotoks along with the HTA Knights for zones.

As for the Boys 4A zones the best of three between Foothills Composite and Bert Church out of Airdrie goes this weekend with the winner advancing to provincials.

The Comp  4A girls have already qualified for provincials.

When it comes to JV zones for local teams Strathcona Tweedsmuir 2A girls are at St. Anthony's in Drumheller and the Spartan boys are at St. Joe's in Brooks.

Foothills Composite will host 3A-4A zones with the Falcons and rival HTA Knights in the field.

Strathmore will host the JV Boys 3A-4A zones.
