Friday is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

It's a day to reflect on our history and learn about the tragedies at residential schools.

Foothills School Division Superintendent Chris Fuzessy says students will be learning about it.

"Our schools are certainly taking part in activities that honour that day and build awareness, both leading up to this Thursday and including this Thursday as well as at the beginning of next week," he says.

Friday is a non-attendance day for students and teachers.
