Cattlemen are casting a wary eye on a strong Canadian dollar.
Alberta Beef Producers Chairman Erik Butters says it was a major concern at the semi annual meeting in Edmonton. Butters says when you go from a 65 cent dollar before BSE to 94 and climbing coming out, that has a huge impact on exporters.
He says it's a worn out record to tell producers to be more efficient, but that's the only way they can combat the rising buck.
Butters says one positive is the moisture this spring.
