A new CEO has been hired to take over the reins at the Rowan House emergency shelter.

Board chair Danelle Murdoch says Sherry Hiebert-Keck has been on the job for a couple of weeks getting acclimated.

She comes to the shelter with an impressive resume.

"She has a Masters of social work degree as well as a Bachelor of social work degree and a Bachelor of arts in psychology, she has extensive experience in management and policy development, clinical service and delivery, human resources, financial management, her specialization area of work in social work was community organization, management and social policy analysis, lots of experience, we are absolutely thrilled to have her on board," Murdoch says.

Hiebert-Keck had previously worked with Hospice Calgary, the Ability Society of Alberta and Catholic Family Services.

She takes over for Timmi Shorr who resigned to take on another position elsewhere.
