The Sheep River Health Trust is already looking ahead to the 9th Annual Together We Can Make a Difference Radiothon.

It’s one of their biggest annual fundraisers and is dedicated to funding local health and wellness initiatives.

Though it’s to be held in June, they recently started taking applications for funding from local organizations.

Executive Director Andrea Mitchell says they’ve funded a wide array of projects over the years.

“We’ve been lucky to fund many projects at our radiothon. COVID support programs, seniors’ programs, we did a Longview seniors bus, we’ve been able to support Foothills Country Hospice, Rowan House, It Takes a Village, Baby it’s Cold Outside, so if you’re an organization in the community that’s looking for funding for health and wellness initiatives, we’re here to support that.”

The Health Trust always sets a lofty goal for their radiothons, and this year is no different.

They’re looking to bring in $70,000 this time around.

It’s a figure they’ve come close to in the last two years, with $67,374 raised last year.

Local organizations can register for funding on their website.

They’re also welcoming sponsors, who can register on their website as well.
