High River's the place to be this weekend.

That's according to Roger Hamel with the River City Classics.

"Come to High River, you've got the Balloon fest Friday night, you've got a drive-in Friday night, you've got the burnout Saturday night, you've got a drive-in Saturday night and you've got the car show Sunday," he says. "It's a fantastic High River weekend."

It's the first annual Brian Chipchase Senior Memorial Show and Shine to honour a long time and valued volunteer with the club.

"He was instrumental in building our Eamon's Garage facility, he was always volunteering, I think he probably held every office within the car club from president on down, he was the first man to show up and the last to leave," Hamel says.

The burnout starts at about 5:30 Saturday on Centre Street between 7th Avenue and the traffic circle.

The event is being organized by the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society.

Tracy Cuffe says they're thrilled to do it.

"FFAS is really flourishing and it's been amazing to work with the car show, " she says. "We wanted to get involved in the community and what better way than with the town's biggest event. It's been great working with the guys, we have brought in some new ideas I hope and just try and make it better every year."

She says there'll be plenty of venders on site and lots of music as well on the stage and in George Lane Park.
