Skijordue returns to the Foothills this weekend.

Skijoring is a winter sport centred around skiers being pulled behind horses, often utilizing jumps and obstacles for maximum spectacle.

The annual Skijordue event, held this year at the Millarville Racetrack, marries the sport with fondue (and other delicacies, many of them cheese-based), and over-the-top costumes worn by both competitors and spectators.

It's been around for a few years now and has been hosted in Millarville a few times before.

Prize money is on the line for competitors, and even spectators stand to win something, with Spectator Style Awards planned.

It also acts as a fundraiser for Prairie Sky Equine Assisted Therapy.

It's scheduled for Saturday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Millarville Racetrack.
