The snowfall falling upon Alberta today is causing issues up and down the QE II including Stoney Trail in Calgary.

RCMP in Central Alberta are busy near Didsbury where a serious collision between a snowplow and a pick-up truck has traffic re-routed.

Its closed down both southbound lanes on Highway 2 and traffic must take Highway 581.

Emergency crews are expected to be on scene for a few more hours and RCMP are recommend you avoid the area.

Also, on Stoney Trail near McKnight Blvd in the northeast of Calgary there was a multi-vehicle collision earlier today which shut down all the southbound lanes.

It has re-opened but crews are still on scene, and you might experience delays this afternoon.
