The study of High River's storm ponds is continuing during the summer. Naomi Asher has been hired to take samples of the water at Sunshine pond. She's recently been lookijg for more sight specific area where she's able to find higher amounts of pollution so the town can figure out how to stop it.
She says all the industrial area and housing south and east of the pond drain into the pond. One of the major causes of problems is run-off from lawns being watered after they've been over fertilized. Asher is working to determine the cause so the town doesn't simply pour more chemicals into the pond or buy a machine for a quick fix that doesn't last.
