The Special Olympics Foothills organization held a big year-end bowling tournament on Saturday.

Four different teams joined the Foothills athletes coming from Airdrie, Lethbridge, Bow Valley and Drumheller.

While they do have trophies up for grabs, it's much more about the friendships developed and the fun the teams have with the dinner awards and dance afterward.

Amateur weather specialist Angie Brown competed with her team and said the entire day was a blast.

She bowled way above her average on her second and third game notching scores of 124 and 126 but it was all about making new friends, having supper provided by Live Edge Catering and dancing the night away to the songs her uncle Charlie Brown with Charlie Brown Sounds was playing.

You can listen for Angie's weekly weather updates on the 99.7 Sun Country Morning Show with Charlie Brown shortly after the 6:30 a.m. News on Monday's.
